How to Clean It

A Best Practices Guide

To fully experience ultra-purified, ultra-hydrating FRESHPURE® WATERS, a clean bottle is essential. A clean bottle is not only the key to enjoying the FreshPure® taste, it’s also an important step in taking care of your health.

CDC Recommendations for Bleach Sanitization:

Fill your bottle with tap water and add the appropriate amount of chlorine bleach from the list below. Let it stand for at least one minute. Don’t forget to wash the lids.

Below are chlorine bleach amounts for common bottle sizes:

    • 1-gallon bottle: 1/3 cup
    • 2-gallon bottle: 2/3 cup
    • 3-gallon bottle: 1 cup
    • 5-gallon bottle: 1 2/3 cups

When sanitizing the outside of your bottles and other products and surfaces, use either a household product from the EPA’s approved list, or make a bleach solution following the above guidelines. Fill a spray bottle with the bleach solution, and spray down your bottles. Let it stand for at least one minute, then wipe them down with a clean paper towel or towel making sure they are very dry.
